Inside The Art Studio: A Story by Maja Georgiou. May 28, 2019
What started out as an exercise in loosening my hand and freeing my thought pattern when came to painting and drawing, became one of my most successful pictures. I couldn't possibly have anticipated all the twists and turns this piece was going to take and I think that's probably the most satisfying part of creating.
I've held a camera in my hand for the last 15 years, which is roughly how long I haven't tried to draw or paint. I never thought I would be good enough and photography seemed more approachable. But I've come to ripe age where I care less about success and more about the process and what it can teach me.
In art or creating of any kind, there're no failures, just end results that are either a dead end or wellspring of new thoughts and ideas that birth something greater over time.
and a warm welcome to my first ever blog post. I'm so happy we've connected.
Here is where you'll find me posting photos and videos of my studio practice, from painting, collaging to photographing. All behind the scenes work that goes into creating a new piece. So if sneak peeking is your thang, or you're just a curious creature, then this is your front row ticket into my world.
I have great things planned, but as with all new beginnings
(they suck and they're painful, uncomfortable and awkward)
bear with me as I smooth the edges and this thing takes proper shape.
And just as a little side note about me, I'm not weird. I'm limited edition.
On that note, don't go anywhere, great things are coming...
and now... leave me a comment bellow and tell me what you'd like me to write about, what type of stories are you interested in reading?
