About Maja Georgiou
Some of my earliest memories begin along the Adriatic Sea. As a child, I spent long summer days swimming, exploring the shoreline, and seeing the world with the kind of wonder only children seem to possess.
On weekends, everything changed.
My family would drive into the mountains to visit my grandmother, where life moved at a different pace. We climbed cherry trees until we reached the highest branches, worked in the vineyards, made our own wine, wandered gravel paths bordered by centuries-old stone walls, and spent entire days surrounded by orchards, wild grasses, and open landscapes. Those moments felt ordinary then. Looking back, I realize they shaped the way I see beauty, memory, and home.
Today, I paint from those memories—not to recreate a particular place, but to preserve the feeling of one.
The blossoming trees, vineyards, luminous skies, and quiet horizons that appear throughout my work are fragments of remembered landscapes woven together with imagination. Each painting is an invitation to slow down, take a deep breath, and reconnect with the moments that quietly define our lives.
Because the paintings aren't really about my childhood.
They're about yours.
Whether they remind you of climbing your favorite tree, walking a familiar path, watching the sun rise over a place you once loved, or simply feeling at peace for a moment, I hope they become more than artwork on a wall. I hope they become keepers of memory—pieces that grow more meaningful with time and continue to bring you back to the strongest, most beautiful moments of your own life.
Today I create these contemporary landscapes from my studio in New Orleans, blending memory, imagination, and abstraction into paintings designed to bring a sense of calm, beauty, and belonging to the homes they become part of.

FAQ
What kind of paper is used?
All my prints are made using Hahnemühle German Etching paper- a museum-quality, heavyweight fine art paper with a beautifully textured surface. This paper is 310gsm, made from 100% alpha-cellulose, and is acid-free and lignin-free, meaning it's built to last a lifetime without yellowing or fading.
It has a rich, velvety matte finish that gives each print incredible depth, making the colours and fine details of my work really stand out. It's the same paper used by professional galleries and printmakers worldwide- chosen for its ability to replicate the feel and quality of original artwork.
Are the prints signed?
Each print includes a digital signature embedded in the bottom corner of the artwork. This signature is part of the print file itself and maintains the integrity of the design.
Please note: prints are not hand-signed, as they are produced and shipped directly through a professional fine art print studio.
What is giclée printing?
Giclée is a high-quality fine art printing process that uses archival pigment-based inks and professional inkjet printers to produce detailed, vibrant, and long-lasting prints. All of my prints are giclée printed, which when combined with Hahnemühle German Etching paper, ensures museum-grade quality with rich colour depth, deep blacks, and exceptional detail. Giclée prints are known for their longevity- they're fade-resistant for up to 100 years.
